Plant Care

This an easy care indoor plant, that is very hardy. The beautiful striped foliage comes in tones of purples, pinks, whites and silvers that glimmer in the sun. Great as a trailing plant from a shelf or hanging basket. Very tolerant of indoor conditions. In Summer little pink or white flowers will appear. Position - Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but indirect is best. They will loose their vibrant colours if they don’t have enough light. But generally Tradescantias are adaptable to different light conditions. Will grow towards the light source so to encourage even growth you should turn the plant 180 degrees every now and again. Water - Water from below once a week or fortnight depending on the conditions, don’t leave the foliage and stems sodden with too much water because they will rot away. If in doubt check to see if the potting mix is dry before watering. Safety - Toxic to dogs and cats, keep them and children away from the plant. Can become a weed outside in some areas of Australia so best to keep indoors. Difficulty - Easy care
