DRAGON TAIL PLANT / DRACAENA MARGINATA

Common Name / Latin Name

ALUMINIUM PLANT/ PILEA CADIEREI

A striking and visually distinct houseplant. It typically features a woody stem that is slender and upright, reaching heights of up to 6 feet (1.8 meters). The leaves grow in clusters at the top of the stem and are long and lance-shaped, with a deep green color and prominent red or purple edges. The leaves can reach a length of about 2 feet (60 centimeters) and have a slightly arching growth pattern. As the plant ages, the lower leaves tend to drop off, exposing the sleek and unique trunk. Overall, the Dragon plant has an elegant and exotic appearance that adds a touch of greenery and drama to any indoor space. Position - Place the plant in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but brighter light will promote healthier growth. Water - Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, but don't let it become bone dry. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Test the moisture level by sticking your finger about an inch deep into the soil. If it feels dry, it's time to water. Tips - The Dracaena Marginata thrives best in average room temperatures of 15-24°C. It can tolerate slightly cooler or warmer conditions but avoid extreme temperatures. Average household humidity is generally sufficient for this plant. Regularly remove any dead or damaged leaves to enhance the plant's appearance. You can also trim back taller stems if they grow too leggy, stimulating new growth. Feed the plant with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every two to four weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding during the winter months. Safety - Toxic if consumed by pets or humans. The best practice is always to keep houseplants out of reach of small children and pets Difficulty - Easy Care
